Richard Allen Harris, 83 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Savior and Lord on October 14, 2024 at the Arbors Care Facility. He was born May 18, 1941 in Radford, Virginia to the late Woodrow Wilson and Flora June Mullens Harris.

Rick had a special relationship with his Lord, having been baptized by the late Delmar “Bud” Burke, and was a long-time member of the Bush Church of Christ, and later the Woodsfield Church of Christ.

He was a retired employee of Ormet Corporation and had many friends there. Richard and Joyce sold their Campfire Road Farm to their friends Aaron and Betty, and lived a few years in Medford, Oregon where he was employed by Farmers Building & Supply in Grants Pass, Oregon. Before coming back to Woodsfield Richard served his country honorably, receiving several marksmanship medals, and commendations during his service years,

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Marie Harris, brother John, father & mother-in-law George and Ruth Clause, and his fur buddy Casey.

He especially wanted to thank his very special friends, Cathy and Dennis Ward, in appreciation of their many visits and goodies that brightened his days. Thanks to Dr. Baum and the very special and caring nurses, attendants, and staff that took care of his needs at the Arbors.

Richard will be remembered for his love of animals, his easy-going attitude and never having spoken an ill word of anyone.

As per his request no service will be held. Inurnment will be at Bush Cemetery. Arrangements by Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.
