Barbara K. Fonda Crossed over the rainbow bridge on Monday, October 14, 2024, after battling Parkinsons since 1998.
Barbara was born in Jackson, South Carolina to the late Woodrow Wilson Kesner and Ann Hassage Kesner.
“Living my life to the fullest, I have joined the love of my life, Richard Fonda. I was a member of Melvin Roads American Legion and the Elks Lodge #2073.
Special thanks to Gloria Fonda for making my life worth living after Richards’ death and to the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor C3 for the outstanding care and love given to me during my stay. It’s been a slice, see you on the other side.” Love Barbara.
Survivors include her in-laws, Ben Alvarez, and Gloria and Walter Fonda; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Richard, she was predeceased by her sister, Sennie Alvarez.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, October 19, at 10 AM in the church of St. Mary at Clinton Heights, 163 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY 12144. Interment will be in New Rural Cemetery.
