Jane Dickert Isbell, 93, of Signal Mtn., Tennessee. passed away Monday October 14, 2024. Born in Cleveland, Tennessee, she lived most of her life in Chattanooga and Signal Mtn., TN. A graduate of Chattanooga High School, she received her B.S. degree from the University of Chattanooga, where she received an academic scholarship.
She taught in the Chattanooga School System, was President of the Chattanooga Chi Omega Alumnae Association and received the Kate Hinds Steele award, given by the Chi Omega Alumnae Association to an outstanding, alumni for community service.
She served on the Board of the Auxiliary to the Third District Dental society and was State Dental Health week chair. She served on Girls Club Board, was a volunteer at the Chattanooga Food Bank and was a docent at Hunter Museum of American Art.
She was a staff model at Lovemans and Proffits and worked in runway, print, T.V. and films for 27 years. She was assistant Fashion Director and stylist for Lovemans.
Along with her partner, the late Noveita Wilson, they formed Noveita and Jane Image/Fashion Consultants and worked for 21 years with a wide range of clients, from local to national. She was an active member of First Centenary United Methodist Church, she served on the Administrative Board, taught Sunday School for many years and volunteered in the church’s Inner City Reading Program.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David McWhorter Isbell; parents, Wilson Edgar and Retta Orr Dickert; and sister, Nancy Dickert Martin. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Isbell and Deanne (Dan) Mott.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday October 22, 2024 at First Centenary United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 12-1 P.M. Tuesday at the church.
