Joy A. Hinton, age 71 of Ashville passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. She was born January 18, 1953, in Circleville, the daughter of Robert W. and Edith (Donaldson) Crosby. She was a graduate of Teays Valley High School, class of 1972. Joy retired from Eddie Bauer with over 20 years of service. She loved going to the ballfields to see her granddaughters play softball. Joy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the Friday dinners out. She is survived by her father, Bob Crosby, of Ashville; son Jeremy (Cassie Smith) Hinton, of Waverly; grandchildren, Bobbi (Myles Booker) Hinton, of Lancaster, Lexi and Logan Smith, both of Waverly; brothers, Ron Crosby, Bob (Vicki) Crosby, and Rick (Virginia) Crosby, all of Ashville, and Randy Crosby, of Stoutsville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Cilla, Stephanie, Wendy, Torrecia, and Sandy. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville. Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery.
