Margaret Lynn “Peggy” Nyberg, 84, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at The Grove Health & Rehab Center.
She was born Nov. 10, 1939, in Woodruff, WI, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Hammond) Sutton. She was married to James P. “Jim” Nyberg and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Michael (Mary) Nyberg of Jerseyville, and Brian Nyberg (girlfriend Rachel Jackson) and Tina Knox, both of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Jonathan (Jennifer) Deshasier of Chicago and Erika Deshasier of Jacksonville; and two great grandchildren, Taylor and Rylee Deshasier. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Sutton.
Peggy was a nurse working at Passavant Hospital for many years. She enjoyed reading, shopping with friends, going out to eat, and going to the Jacksonville Public Library. Early in her life she was a member of her high school Marching Band and was in a singing group. Peggy especially loved spending time with her family.
There will be no services. A private burial will be held at a later date in Woodruff, WI. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
