Samuel Peraro Obituary

Samuel (Sam) Peraro, born on October 9, 1938, passed into eternal life on October 14, 2024. He was surrounded by the family that loved him. Sam was predeceased by his parents Dominick and Caroline (Sarno) Peraro. He was born on October 9, 1938 in Hartford CT and was a lifelong resident of Enfield CT. After graduating from Enfield High School, he attended Providence College, before starting work at Kaman Aircraft.

On a vacation to Florida in 1962 with his greatest friend John Pasini, he met Catherine from Brooklyn NY, who would become the love of his life. They married on August 18, 1963, moved to Enfield and raised 3 children in a home of happiness and love. After owning a package store and selling real estate for several years, Sam went to work for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, where he retired after 20 years of service. Sam was a longtime member of the Enfield Hunters Club, Suffield Sportsman Association, and Associate member of the Rinaldi-Roy Fede Post 17. He loved fly fishing for trout and salmon, tying flies for himself, his son and his many fishing friends, pheasant and duck hunting, cooking, playing poker and most of all spending time with his family who loved him, where he would host a large gathering and prepare the meal.

Sam was much loved and will be missed everyday by many people including; Catherine Peraro, his loving wife of 61 years, the 3 children that they raised with love and joy, Dominick Peraro and his wife Mary of Leominster MA, Caroline Dircks and her husband Christopher Dircks of Cheshire CT and Nancy Peraro of Enfield CT. Sam is also survived by his much loved and devoted Grandchildren Catherine Peraro and her boyfriend, Nicholas Papasodoro, Connor Clarimont and his wife, Prabha, Cullen Clairmont, Kaylyn Clairmont and her boyfriend, Dylan Lukas and 2 step grandchildren Jude and Chloe Dircks. Sam also leaves 2 beloved great grandchildren Vihan and Leela Clairmont (children of Connor and Prabha). Sam also leaves his cherished Aunts Ida Angelica and Louise Romano and many cousins.

Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 with the procession forming at 9:30 am to St. Martha Church (St. Jeanne Jugan Parish) 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield for a 10:30 Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
