Joseph William Warner Obituary

Joseph William Warner, age 77, of Columbiaville, formerly of Clarkston and Leipsic, Ohio, died Monday, October 14, 2024. He was born December 18, 1946 in Ypsilanti, to William and Cora (Monks) Warner.


Joseph graduated in 1965 from Belleville High School. He went on to proudly serve four years in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany. When Joe returned home he worked many years in Leipsic, Ohio for DT&I Railroad, as an inspector. In the mid-1980’s he moved to Clarkston and took a job with Grand Trunk Railroad in Pontiac, where he was a mobile repairman. Mr. Warner grew up near railroad tracks and that was his lifetime passion. He loved collecting model train sets; lots and lots of Lionel Train sets. Joseph also enjoyed watching Detroit sports teams on television.


Joe is survived by his daughter: Heather Warner of Columbiaville; step-daughters: Hope LeMonde McCullough of Stanton, California and Holly LeMonde of Kansas City, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; sister: Janet Wall of Romulus; niece Tracie Wells of Wayne; and nephews: Kevin (Leslie) Wells of Westland and Derrick (Michelle) Wells of Ypsilanti. He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Cora Warner; and ex-wife: Sheryl Lou Warner.
