Nina "Meda" Almeda Trimble Obituary

Nina “Meda” Almeda Trimble, 90 of Grafton, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 at United Hospital Center Bridgeport, she was born April 9, 1934 in Morgantown, daughter of the late Russell and Bertha Walker Dalton, she is preceded in death by her husband Oscar Trimble, November 1982.

Meda was a co-owner with her husband Oscar of the Russell Dalton Trucking Co., and the Oscar B. Trimble Lumber Co. both in Morgantown. She was the owner of Big Daddy’s in Grafton for fifty years and was the former owner of the Ringold Service Station in Morgantown and Medies Restaurant in Masontown. Meda attended Morgantown High School and moved to Grafton where she made her home for life.  Meda attended Mt Calvary Methodist Church in Halleck.  She had the gift to make friends where ever she was and she enjoyed talking with people and never met a stranger. Meda liked to go hunting, camping, shopping, going on road trips, working on the sawmill and running a forklift. She enjoyed sitting back every now and then to watch her favorite westerns. Meda loved Big Daddy’s and did not consider it a job. She loved her friends and family more than anything else in her life. To know Meda was to love her.

Meda is survived by three children, Victor Trimble (Bobbie Jo), Vaughn Trimble (Robin), and Veronica Sheme (Donnie); twelve grandchildren, Lil Vic, Jeff, Vanessa (Timmy), Harley (iLiana), Chalee (Dylan), Caleb, Collin, Brandon, Bubbie, Jarod (Heather), Stachia (Michael), Jake (Ashley); sixteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Meda is preceded in death by her companion of 30 years, Butch Knotts, one brother, James Dalton four sisters, Pauline Trimble, Betty Baker, Dottie Williams, and Lillian Foy.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and Friday, October 18, 2024 from 9:00 until 11:00AM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Tonya Newcome officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Goshen Road Morgantown.
