Anthony N. Tier, 68, of Conyngham, passed away Monday morning October 14, 2024, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Hazleton, PA, September 19, 1956, he was the son of Theresa (Deeb) Tier, of  Drums and the late Nicholas Tier and has spent the past 46 years in Conyngham, after moving from West Hazleton.

Anthony graduated with a B.S. Degree from Bloomsburg State University after attending Penn State. He worked as a Procurement Specialist for PP&L, and was also a Registered Tax Preparer at his home in Conyngham. He was a member of St John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf where he taught Faith formation and lectored for many years, a past president and board member of the CVCO, past President of Conyngham Lions Club, a member of the Knight of Columbus, and was a founding member of  the Wednesday Night Social Club. He also coached Little league, soccer, basketball, and refereed basketball at CVCO. He was an avid Penn State Fan.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of the past 46 years Linda (Schleppy) Tier, to whom he was married on September 9, 1978. Also surviving are two sons Nicholas Tier and his wife Kerry, Collegeville; Matthew Tier and his wife Diana, Pottstown; two brothers Michael Tier and wife Sharon, Conshohocken; Robert Tier and wife Jill, St. Augustine, FL; two Granddaughters Paige and Tessa Tier: and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:00am in St John Bosco R.C. Church, Sugarloaf, Internment will follow in Conyngham Union Cemetery, Conyngham. Friends may call at the Church on Friday Morning from 9:00am until time of Mass.
