Rose Maria Martinez, 62, of Lubbock, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. She was born on August 19, 1962 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Thomas & Amelia (Garza) Soto. Rose married Pedro Martinez, Jr. who proceeded her in death. She was a person of many fun personalities, always cracking jokes, and had the best comebacks for just about anything. Rose loved animals, she has was always adopting the stray animals she came across, but her last baby love, Mousey was her favorite, he was most definitely her spoiled baby. Rose had a generous heart, she was always lending a hand where she could. She was the glue to the family, she planned family get togethers, and the family reunion, she loved getting everyone together to enjoy family meals. Rose loved to cook and bake, and she was well known for her million-dollar pies. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Jesse Soto, Rudy Soto, Maria Barrera, Lupe Soto, Enedina Moreno, Patricia Soto, Christina Vargas, Joel Soto; stepmother, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rose was proceeded in death by her husband, Pedro Martinez, Jr.; parents, Thomas soto Sr, and Amelia Soto; brothers, Joe Soto and Thomas Soto, Jr.; aunt and Uncle, Margarito and Leonidas Ballejo.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel, with an open mic to begin at 4:00 p.m. for anyone who would like to share memories or stories, with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
