Tracy Houston Roberts, 73, of Grafton, passed away on October 14, 2024. Born in Summerlee, West Virginia, on May 23, 1951, Tracy lived a full and adventurous life, known for his love of sports, the outdoors, and his many talents.
He graduated from Elyria High School in 1969 and continued his education at LCC, Ohio State University, the Cooper Institute of Art, and the Northern Institute of Cosmetology. Tracy worked as a ski instructor in Colorado, New York, and Vermont and as an employee of the American Shipbuilders Company, including work on the Edmund Fitzgerald and Roger Blough.
Later in life, Tracy pursued his passion for hairstyling, working with Paul Mitchell and various local salons. His talents didn’t stop there; Tracy was also a skilled carpenter, artist, and athlete. He was an avid skier, fishing enthusiast, camper, and climber, and he scaled mountains from the East Coast to the Rockies. Tracy was also a proficient scuba diver and served as a lifeguard in his youth.
Tracy was a lifelong fan of Cleveland sports, cheering for the Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians. His love for life, sports, and adventure was surpassed only by the love he had for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Georgia; his daughter Heather Molzan; his stepsons Christopher Bevan (April), and, Jefferey Bevan (Jamie); and his grandchildren Justin, Emme, Stella, Leila, Lucy, and Austin.
Tracy was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Lillian Roberts (nee:Rhodes), and his brother, Dennis Roberts.
Friends may call on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 5:00 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home in Amherst.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Tracy will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, creative talents, and deep love for his family and friends. He lived a full and productive life, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories.
