Joe Dan Pope, 73 of 488 Beaver Road, Clinton, NC passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 6 PM – 8 PM at Crumpler Honeycutt Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Joe Dan was born on October 7, 1951 to the late Walter Wright and Doucy Pope.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karon (Kay) Pope.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Talmadge Pope and a sister, Jean Darden. He was born and raised in Sampson County and a farmer all of his life. Joe Dan was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife Kay, he is survived by a son, Danny Joe Pope (Kim) and a daughter, Wendy Pope Smith (Brian), Grandchildren, Rhylee Pope, Brady Smith and Joesen Pope.  He also leaves behind a brother, Tate Pope and sisters Joyce Hairr, Mittie Tyndall, Linda Sholar and Judy King.
