Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Martin & Castille’s - DOWNTOWN location in Lafayette for Wayne Tauzin, age 71, who passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024 at The Calcutta House by Hospice of Acadiana in Lafayette.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Rabalais Tauzin; two daughters, Angela Weathers and Rachel Sanborn and her husband Ray; step-daughter, Drea Thomas and her husband James Thompson; step-son, Dustin Wayne Thomas and his wife Michele; grandchildren, Madison Weathers, Morgan Weathers, Meredith Weathers, Chloe Zamarripa, Alec Thomas, and Carson Thomas; five siblings, Mike Tauzin and his wife Norma, Bonnie Tauzin, Faye Crenshaw, Peggy Tauzin, and Terry Tauzin and his wife Debbie; sister in law, Jean Tauzin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, Denege Daigle Tauzin and Roy Tauzin Sr.; and two brothers, Donald Tauzin and Roy Tauzin Jr.

Wayne Tauzin, a devoted husband, father, poppy, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. He was known for his passion for sports, particularly golf and football, with a special allegiance to LSU and the New Orleans Saints. Wayne cherished the time spent outdoors, whether fishing or hunting with his beloved hunting club, The Buck Baggers.

A proud veteran, Wayne honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, following in the footsteps of his father. His dedication to service and love for his family will always be remembered.

Wayne's spirit and enthusiasm for life touched everyone he met. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

The family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers, Lisa Cormier, Lisa Oliver, and Rachel Landor for the love and care given to Mr. Wayne and his family.
