Laura A. Erickson, age 98, formerly of Oneida, Illinois died at 7:20 AM on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Courtyard Estate in Knoxville, Illinois.

She was born on October 29, 1925 near Reynolds, Illinois the daughter of John H. and Josephine (Simmons) Kammerman. She attended and graduated from Sherrard High School, the class of 1943. She married Vincent Erickson on November 16, 1947 at the United Methodist Church in Reynolds, Illinois, they were married 64 years until his death on December 28, 2011.

Surviving are her daughters: Deloris J. (Roger) Brown of Altona, Illinois and Doris J. (John) Wolford of Abingdon, Illinois; grandchildren: Letitia (Matt) Lewis, Jerod (Dana) Brown, Jenelle (Charlie) Pritchard, Phillip (Cara) Wolford, Daniel (Cricket) Wolford, Matthew (Carrie) Wolford; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Makalya, Madison, Mallory, Marissa, Vincent, August, Lola, Orion, Preston, Brayden, Levi, Arthur and Ellie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Dorothy Muhleman.

She assisted her husband with the farming for 64 years. She was an active member of the Oneida United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Family graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, Illinois. Rev. Jordan Knight will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, Illinois. Memorials contributions may be made to the Activity Fund at Courtyard Estates or to the Donor’s Choice.
