Carol Jean Kuehl, 82, of Woodward, IA, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 11, 2024.
Born on June 28, 1942, in Kingsley, IA, she was the daughter of Clarence and Fern (Schweitzberger) Johnson. Carol attended school in Perry, IA graduating in the Class of 1959. Following her education, she worked for Willis and Sackett for a time. On February 18, 1962, she married Harold Dean Kuehl in Perry. The couple made their home and raised their children on a farm north of Woodward before moving to town. Carol later worked as a legal assistant for Farm Bureau until her retirement.
She was fortunate to have found a second love in her life, Gene Wickett where she spent her last 19 years. They had many adventures in retirement life.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Carol cherished spending time with her family and friends. Carol was the first to jump in and offer her time. She was involved in many activities such as various card groups, traveling, bowling, taking car rides and gardening. She was a dedicated member of the Woodward United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and active in her community.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold Dean, and two brothers, Gary and Robert.
She is survived by her four children: Scott (Barb) Kuehl, Brad Kuehl, Robert (Valerie) Kuehl, all of Woodward, and Staci (John Morrissey) Kuehl of Granger, IA; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild and a significant other
Gene Wickett.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Woodward United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, also at the church. Burial will follow at the Woodward Cemetery.
