Gerald Edward Sullivan Obituary

In loving memory, we announce the sudden passing of Gerald Edward Sullivan, in Sudbury, Sunday September 29, 2024, at the age of 73 years. Born in New Glasgow Nova Scotia on July 7, 1951, he was the loving son of Estella Crawford (nee Sullivan) (predeceased). Along his travels he married (later divorced) Susan Peloquin (nee Robinson) (Dale) in London, Ontario. There he soon after became the loving and proud father of his daughter Sherry Mroczynski (nee Sullivan) (predeceased) (Brian) and of Marlaina Sullivan (Matt). A cherished grandfather he was of Zackary, Ronan and Alana Mroczynski. Loving brother of Sharon (predeceased), Kathleen, Kenneth (predeceased), Dorothy and Darlene. Dear uncle of 11 nieces and nephews. Gerald’s travels led him to Sudbury, where he resided as a long term “true patriot” resident, strong in his Christian faith. In his younger years “down home,” he enjoyed helping the fisherman and watching the boats come and go in the harbours. Throughout his life, he worked as a glazier and general labourer until physically unable. He was still a man of physical and emotional strength, resilience, wisdom, and many talents including music. You could be sure of “the words his hands could say” while he’d strum out his favourite tunes. His hobbies included; playing his guitar and harmonica, fishing, bible studies, coin collecting, and doing small repairs/restoring items to give back to those in need. He enjoyed visiting the mall and music/hobby shops. He was happy making new friends and spending time with his family, creating loving memories to be cherished all the rest of our lives. He left his family and friends behind a legacy of love, kindness, and forgiveness. You would often hear him say “soak kindness and gather love” and would end his conversations with a genuine “God bless!” May he be remembered by his gentle nature, sense of humour, strength and resilience, musical talents, and stories he loved to share.

His family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to his friends of the community, those by his side until the end, first responders and Simple Wishes of the North for their services.

A celebration of life will be held November 16, 2024, at the Colonial Banquet Hall located at 28 Cedar Street, Coniston, Ontario from 1:00-6:00pm where all family and friends are welcome to gather.
