Virginia Montoya Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Virginia Montoya, who left us on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the age of 78. Virginia was a shining light in our lives of all who knew her, known for her infectious laughter, warm hugs, and her love for life. Virginia was born on July 23, 1946, to Alfredo Armijo and Jessie Romero in Clovis, NM. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. Virginia embraced every moment of life with enthusiasm and a playful heart. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, going to the Casino and spending time with her family. She was the light in everyone’s life, known for her ability to illuminate any room with her warm spirit.
Pallbearers are to include Eddie Montoya Jr., Julian Montoya, Johnny Meier, Michael Rael, Eddie Montoya, Joe Montano, and Martin Aguilar. Honorary pallbearers include Glen Ramos, Anthony Meier, Christopher Meier, Jaden Rael, Jalen Allen, Jaron Montoya, Josh Montoya, and Kody Howell.
Rest in peace, dear Virginia. Your laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Muffley Funeral Home, 1430 Thornton St., Clovis, NM. Rosary will be on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 5:00 pm at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton St., Clovis, NM. Memorial service will be on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:00 am at The Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Adan Lucero; children, Janet Sanchez of Clovis, NM, Yolanda (John) Meier of Clovis, NM, Eddie “JR” (Angel) Montoya of Clovis, NM, Johnny (Diana) Montoya of Clovis, NM, Jessica (Michael) Rael of Clovis, NM, and Julian (Vickie) Montoya of Clovis, NM; siblings, Danny Armijo of Clovis, NM, Eddie Armijo of El Paso, TX, Toni Chavez of Santa Rosa, NM, Teresa (Eddie) Gomez of Clovis, NM, and Hope (Mere) Baca of Clovis, NM; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo and Jessie; first husband, Eddie Montoya; and sisters, Lucy Baca, Fabbie Bane, Gloria Joy, and Angelita Spahn.
