Allen John Schott, 73, departed this life on October 5, 2024 surrounded by his family at home. He was the beloved husband of Trudi Wheeler Schott. Allen was born in Meriden, CT on December 13, 1950 to [the late] Aloysius and Edith (Kolin) Schott.
After graduating from Wilcox Tech High School, Allen entered the US Army and served in Fort Hood, Texas. Upon completion of his service, he earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and proceeded to work in this capacity for several employers until and beyond his retirement.
Allen loved his Lord and served wherever he was needed in his church. He loved teaching Sunday School and regularly would encourage and challenge his students in their spiritual growth. He was a servant to others and always willing to help friends and family in need.
Allen loved his family and doted on his granddaughters. He would always share some anecdote from their lives with anyone who was around. He was regularly involved in his children's lives while they were growing up and after leaving the house. He loved to get outdoors - biking, hiking, and camping. He loved going on "short" drives. Allen would often take apart some mechanical device, figure out how it worked, determine if he could improve it in some way, and put it back together with only a couple of parts left over.
Allen is survived by: spouse Trudi Schott; daughter Mindy Carter and her husband Robert; son Peter Schott and his wife Amanda Lynn; sister Kathryn Olson; brother David Schott and his wife Joyce; granddaughters Eliana, Megan, Amarissa, and Carrie. He was predeceased by his brother Robert.
