Jenella Wonetta Ross, also known as Nella (StayTrue) Ross, was born on December 9, 1985, In Linden, Guyana, and passed away on September 27, 2024, in Brooklyn, New York.  She was the beloved daughter of Agatha Ross of West Hartford and the late Arthur Ross. Jenella moved to the United States at age three and was lovingly raised by her grandmother, Charlotte Nichols.

Jenella attended Nurture Nest Pre-School and continued her education at Hartford Seventh-Day Adventist School, completing kindergarten through sixth grade. She then went to Carmen Arace Middle School and graduated from Bloomfield High School. During her high school years, Jenella was an active member of the orchestra, showcasing her talents on the flute and clarinet. She also played the piano at Hartford Seventh-Day Adventist School. Known for her quiet demeanor and encouraging spirit, Jenella was a gifted poet who always uplifted her friends. For the past two years, she worked at Suffield House in Suffield, Connecticut.

Jenelle is survived by her mother, Agatha Ross of West Hartford; her brothers, Rawle and Marlon Ross of Guyana; her sister, Petal Ross of Guyana, her nieces, Angelique, Danaisha, and Kiana; and her nephews, Jaquan and Cevon. She also leaves a loving extended family, including her aunts Dawn Williams, Becky Rawlins, June Nichols, and Willette Bragg of CT, also Bernice and Lorraine of Guyana, and Millicent and Jane of London. Her uncles, Linton Nichols, Kenrick Ross, and Colin Hoppie, along with her cousins Andre, Renesha, Laurne, Christopher, Rhonda, Carmen, Ronald, Alison, Joshua, Shemaiah, Allayne, Brendan, Aire, Mishael, Azzon, Shevon, Valerie, Michael, Rhiannon and Alisha. Also, Adela of Guyana, Jemel and Shany of London, and numerous friends and loved ones.

Predeceased by her father, Arthur Ross, and her brother Brion Ross. Jenella's kind spirit and gentle heart touched many lives. She will be profoundly missed by her friends, including Adrian, Alana, Patrona, Precious, Margo, and many others.

During this time of grief, we celebrate Jenella's life and the joy she brought to those around her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
