Alice Marie Jackson, age 89, of Oakfield Twp., passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, October 7, 2024. She was born in Oakfield Twp., on May 7, 1935, the daughter of Ernest and Cora (Weaver) Davis. She graduated from Greenville High School with the graduating class of 1953. Several years later she met and married the love of her life, Edward Jackson in 1958. For many years, Alice was the treasurer for the Oakfield Twp. Historical Society. In her spare time she enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed bowling in a league which allowed her to travel to several state tournaments. In recent years she and the ladies from her family joined a bowling league. Alice loved that she got to share one of her favorite hobbies with them. Spending time with family was important to Alice. Every year, the beginning of the school year excited her because she would be able to take her grandchildren on her annual “Grand Kids Day Trip”. She absolutely loved being a grandma. Alice is survived by her husband, Edward Jackson; children, Edward (Norma) Jackson Jr., Sherri Jackson, James (Shelly) Jackson, and Doug (Ann) Jackson; 13 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; brother, Billie Davis; and sister, Emma Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents; several siblings; a daughter-in-law, twin grandchildren, and twin great grandchildren. Funeral services for Alice will take place at Hurst Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 am. Rev. Zach Nyhuis from Gowen Bible Church will serve as officiant. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Gravesides services at Oakfield Twp. Cemetery will immediately follow the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to Corewell Health Hospice.
