Brian Scott Belts, the world’s favorite troublemaker, passed away on October 4, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of mischief and laughter. Born on June 9, 1991, Brian quickly made a name for
himself as an instigator-in-chief, stirring the pot in every corner of his life, but always with the best of intentions—and a wink.
Known for being *notorious* in every community he touched, Brian had a knack for pulling people together, usually with a perfectly timed quip or a joke that left you laughing long after you should’ve been mad. He was the person you called when you needed both a partner-in-crime and a friend who genuinely cared. If he was there, you knew something was going to happen—and it was going to be fun.
While Brian’s antics were legendary, so was his heart. A petitioner and advocate, Brian had a deep love for non-profits, always looking for ways to make the world a little better, even if it was just through a well-placed prank or a cause close to his heart. And let’s not forget his furry accomplice, Ruby, the dog who stood loyally by his side, happily aiding and abetting his antics with a wagging tail and unconditional love.
Brian is survived by his loving partner, Dominick Garibaldi, who somehow managed to keep up with his antics (or encouraged them—jury’s still out). Brian always told Dominick, "Never lose the kid inside of you" and those words will carry on his playful spirit. He leaves behind his mother, Jennifer Belts, who had infinite patience raising him; his siblings, Heather Belts, Mike
Belts, and Noah Poe, along with his 6 nieces and nephews who undoubtedly inherited a bit of his playful spirit. His father, Wyman Belts, and stepmother, Robin Belts, will forever miss his
quick quips and lively debates. His grandparents, Jack and Barbara Poe, also cherish his memory with love and fondness.
Brian now joins Gene and Susie Belts on the other side, where he’s surely already causing some well-meaning trouble. His absence leaves a hole in the hearts of his loved ones, but the laughter and memories he left behind will remind us all to never take life too seriously. Just like Brian would want us to.
Family and friends will honor Brian's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home North Shore Chapel on Thursday, October 10th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
