Georgia Bare, born on May 17, 1940, in Wilkes County, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in her beloved home in West Jefferson, the Glendale Springs community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne “Rob” Bare; several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 1:00pm at Glendale Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Rickie Triplett and Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm on Thursday; one hour prior to the funeral service.
A devoted member of the Glendale Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Georgia embodied a spirit of kindness and generosity, always putting her family and church family above all else. Her wonderful sense of humor and warm smile touched the lives of everyone around her, making her a cherished presence in her community.
Georgia had a passion for cooking and was known for her ability to fix anything, showcasing her resourcefulness and dedication to helping others. She is survived by her son, Billy Bare, of Millers Creek; her daughter, Susan Hardin (Eddie), of West Jefferson; her sister, Marie Dillard, of Glendale Springs; two grandchildren, Travis Bare, of Jefferson and Stephanie Hardin Washington (Shaun), of Hampstead, NC; five grandchildren, Rusty Bare, Ethan Bare, Noah Bare, Gabriel Washington and Eva Washington; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, who carries on her legacy of love and laughter.
Georgia's impact on the lives of those she encountered will be remembered fondly, as she always offered a helping hand and a listening ear. Her faith and devotion to her family and community will continue to inspire all who knew her.
