Marion Fae Murray Butcher Obituary

Marion Fae Murray Butcher will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, a source of strength, and the heart of her family’s legacy. On Sunday, September 29, 2024, Marion peacefully passed away at the age of 92, surrounded by the family she cherished. Born on April 8, 1932, she was a blessing to her parents, Thomas and Gladys Murray, and grew into a woman who changed the lives of all who knew her.

A 1950 graduate of Lordstown High School, Marion married the love of her life, Frank (Butch) Butcher, in 1953. Together, they built a home filled with love, faith, and devotion. Marion embodied the role of a matriarch, whose compassion, selflessness, and strength became the foundation upon which generations of her family flourished.

Marion’s legacy lives on through her children, Frank (Denise) Butcher, Janine (Brent) Wilcox, Mary (Larry) Yoho, Doug (Charlene) Butcher, Michael (Kimberly) Butcher, Greg Butcher, Cindy Butcher, and Jacqueline (Fred) Bulik. She was also the cherished grandmother of Scott Wilcox, Lisa Butcher, Danielle Alberini, Sara Wilson, Kaitlin Dudas, Trey Yoho, Bridget Sotak, Tessa Butcher, Shelly Householder, and Tim Ross; and the beloved great-grandmother of seventeen and great-great-grandmother of three.

Marion lived for her family, filling their lives with wisdom, warmth, and unwavering love. Her home was a sanctuary where everyone was welcome. Her love embraced all, making her home the heart of the family. The joy and laughter of family gatherings, where memories were made and traditions were born, brought her happiness. She embodied the simple joys of life, where family and community were the core of her existence.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Butcher; her son, Douglass Butcher; her mother, parents; four brothers; and two sisters. Though her earthly journey has ended, her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on through the generations she nurtured.

Special acknowledgement to her son Greg, who resided with her, providing her with love, care, and comfort in her final years and Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice for their support and guidance.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for family at a later date, honoring the life of this remarkable woman. As we remember Marion, let us take comfort in these words:

“When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind.”
