Lisa Bailey-Nelson, age 58, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away at 7:25 a.m., on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in her home.

Lisa was born on October 13, 1965, in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to James and Linda (Smith) Hutchings.

Lisa married Kenneth Bailey and then later in life married Jerry Nelson on August 20, 2014, in Las Vegas, NV and he survives.

Lisa took pride in her home. She loved to clean house, enjoyed completing DIY projects and cooking for her family. She had a green thumb and loved to garden. She like to shop a lot! She took many trips throughout the years with her husband, children, grandkids and many other family members. For work, the majority of her and Jerry’s life was dedicated to running their business. Lisa fought a brave fight against cancer, surviving stage 4 lymphoma in 2016. She loved her family very much and will be truly missed.

Survivors include her mother, Linda (Johnny) Ruffino of Glen Carbon, IL; her husband, Jerry Nelson of Pinckneyville, IL; two daughters, Brooke Bailey of Alton, IL and Taylor Bailey of Staunton, IL; one brother, Douglas (Laura) Hutchings of Granite City, IL; two sisters, Dana (Gary) Schorfheide of Mascoutah, IL and June (Dan) Rinehart of Mitchell, IL; two granddaughters, Harleigh Mullis and Ellie Burney; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, James.

In celebration of her life, a memorial visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of a memorial service at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mark Maynard officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
