David Weiss, 52, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, peacefully with his family by his side.

A Celebration of David’s Life will be held at a later date.

David Alan Weiss was born November 21, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa to Roland and Waunita (Miller) Weiss. He grew up in Urbandale where he received his education, graduating in the class of 1990. David made his career working as a Logistics Coordinator at TMC Transportation where he was currently employed for the past 29 years. David and Pam also own and operate Weiss Lawn Care, offering numerous lawn, tree, and landscaping services to the greater Des Moines area and Ames/Story County. David was very proud of his Native American heritage and was a member of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans Indians tribe.

On October 19, 1996, David was united in marriage to Pamela Yvette Owen. The couple made their home in Grimes and Madrid, and were blessed with three children, Randy, Jacob, and Samantha. David had a passion for life, lived it to the fullest and had an infectious laugh. He enjoyed being outdoors and was often fishing, camping, building bonfires, riding ATVs, snowmobiling, boating, and smoking meats for family gatherings. He was also a passionate Green Bay Packers fan and seldom missed a game. Most of all, family was everything to David, and he cherished time spent making memories with his wife, children, and family that they will never forget.

David will be deeply missed by his wife of 28 years, Pamela; children, Randy Weiss, Jacob Weiss, and Samantha Weiss; siblings, Susan (Jeff) Ganoe, and Peter (Tracee) Weiss; parents-in-law, John and Fran Owen; brother-in-law, Douglas (Angela) Owen; sister-in-law, Julie Lyle; his companion Doberman, Duke; and his many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Waunita Weiss; and his companion dog, Bryant.

Memorials in Dave’s memory can be made to Israel Family Hospice House, Ames, Iowa.
