Joyce Michelle Boldman Obituary

Joyce Boldman, age 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29th, with her family by her side after a valiant fight with ovarian cancer. She was born and raised in Walla Walla, WA, where she met and married the love of her life, Mark Boldman.

She was number twelve out of thirteen children. Joyce loved being in a large family and sharing many memories with her siblings over the years. Countless pumpkin parties, family reunions, weddings, brother’s and sister’s parties, and various events with her family were highlights in her life.

After a brief stint in California while Mark was in the military, they settled in Pasco, WA, where they lived, worked, and raised their family. Joyce was a pillar of her community and an integral part of the St. Patrick’s Parish.

Joyce worked at Campbell & Co. (formally Cambell & Bruce) for over 30 years. Her dedication, kind-heartedness, and tenacity made her an indispensable part of Campbell & Co. In the words of Mike Campbell “Joyce Boldman was our ‘secret sauce’ and anybody who has tried to understand our success, would come back to one ingredient- Mama Joyce.” She loved her job and the people she worked with.

In her retirement years, her and Mark traveled overseas on many adventures. She filled her time with church activities. From Parish Council, Serra Club, the Women of St. Pat’s, and volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, we would often joke she was busier in retirement than she ever was working full time.

Out of all of her activities, volunteering at St. Vinnie’s was the one she loved the most. If you know Joyce, you know how kind, loving, and giving she was. It didn’t matter who you were or your stature in life, she simply loved everyone. She genuinely loved working with the homeless and cared for them deeply.

If you were invited to her house, you instantly became family. From countless pool parties, Sunday dinners, and holiday parties, she was there to greet you with a huge smile and a hug. If you were a stranger, she quickly made you feel at home.

One of the greatest gifts Joyce possessed was making every person she came into contact with feel seen and loved. Her nickname was “Mama Joyce” to many as well as “grandma Joyce” to countless children who would come to her house. That was her, family to everyone.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Mark Boldman. Children Bill Boldman, Angie Boldman, bonus son Jorge Calderon, bonus daughter Jennifer Hughes, Grandchildren Mckenna Calderon (Matt Elizondo), Cheyenne Calderon (Derek Garcia), Caden Calderon, and Saryn Calderon. Great grandchild, Vincent Calderon Garcia. She is also survived by countless relatives including brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Joyce joins her parents Elmer Schille and Marie Skiffington Schille, sister Fran Maccarone, and other family members in heaven.

There will be a funeral mass for Joyce on Friday, October 18th, at 11:00am, located at St. Patrick's Parish, 1320 W Henry St, Pasco. WA, 99301.

There will be a luncheon reception to following the mass at the church and we invite everyone to join us there to celebrate Joyce's remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul in Joyce's honor.
