6 Trees or Condolences have been sent in support of Clyde’s family — View on Tribute Wall
Clyde Bruce Streeter, 73, of West Barnstable, Massachusetts, passed away after a valiant battle on September 29, 2024. Born in Gouverneur, New York on April 7, 1951, Clyde was beloved by all that knew him, for his friendly demeanor and willingness to help others.
Clyde graduated from Brushton-Moira High School in 1969 and went on to become a skilled mechanical engineer. Throughout his career, he worked at several companies, including Packaging Industries and Augat, before retiring from Teledyne Webb Research in 2021.
Affectionately known as "Mr. Friendly," by his kids and grandchildren, Clyde had the unique ability to make friends wherever he went. Whether standing in line or sitting at a grandchild's baseball game, he saw everyone as a friend. His home was often filled with laughter and the sound of tools, as he was the go-to person for fixing anything from dishwashers to vehicles. His son fondly remembers taking apart his toys just so Clyde could put them back together.
Clyde loved riding out on to Sandy Neck ORV to meet up with the "beach crew" or to simply take a walk along the beach in his “brand new” 1998 Jeep. He was also known for his many "mystery rides" on Sundays, which his children looked forward to with great anticipation. Clyde traveled extensively for both work and pleasure, often accompanied by his beloved wife, Ellen. Clyde took many “sibling trips” with his sister Donna and brother Brad and their spouses.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ellen Lydia Streeter (Adams); his children, Jared Bruce Streeter, Leigh Ann Flood (Streeter) and her husband Owen, and Nathan Adams Streeter; his grandchildren, Olivia, Deanna, Molly, Aidan, Colin, and Tristan; his sister, Donna Hornick (Streeter) and her husband David; his brother, Bradley Streeter and his wife Sheila; and many nieces, nephews, and seven special cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lorenzo Streeter and Beatrice Ada Streeter (Anderson).
Visitation for Clyde will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills from 11 am until 1 pm, followed by a 1 pm Memorial Service in the funeral home, and burial at Crocker Park in West Barnstable.
The family would like to thank all the people who helped him on his journey at The Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Cape Cod Healthcare.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the Jimmy Fund in memory of Clyde. His legacy of kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
