Debra A. (Cronin) Young, age 55, of York, passed away on September 29, 2024 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Mark D. Young and his soul’s muse; together they shared 22 years of marriage.
Debra was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 23, 1969 and was the daughter of William and Gloria (Milano) Cronin. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned her master’s degree from Immaculata University. Debra worked as an academic and career counselor as well as a psychology professor. Her career choice exemplified the type of person she was: someone who deeply cared about the well-being of other people. She was passionate about helping people and always put others before herself.
When she wasn’t valiantly battling health issues, Deb delighted and reveled in music, films, books and documentaries. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband Mark, Debra is survived by her sister Mary Nardozzi and husband Steve; her brother Dennis Cronin and wife Kathy; and her nieces and nephews Nikki, Tyler, Dana, Rayne, Kiersten, and Daniel.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately by the family under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York.
Memorial contributions in Debra’s memory may be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
