BELLVILLE: Dixie Lee Gehrisch, born July 11,1946 passed away Sunday September 29, 2024 following an extended illness.
Born in Mount Vernon to Floyd and Pauline (Kochheiser) Swank, Dixie lived most of her life in Bellville. She was a loving wife of 58 years to Dick Gehrisch. Together they raised two children Lisa Boroff and Shawn (Jamie) Gehrisch. She had 3 grandkids Cody (Tara) Boroff, Courtney (Cameron) Mackley, and Heather Gehrisch. 6 Great grandkids Cody, Creedence, Lincoln, Coleman, Wrenlee, Caijen, as well as her sister Sharon Truex.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Dick" Gehrisch on March 16th, 2024.
Dixie had a love for being a homemaker. Sewing, crocheting, gardening, and baking were some of her favorite things to do. She took pride in the home she and Dick built together. She was a lifelong Avon Rep starting at the age of 15. She had many friends and cherished those relationships. Dixie's purpose in life was her family and she took that job to heart. Her impact on her family and those she loved will last forever.
The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve Dixie's family. Graveside services will be held Tuesday October 8th at 2pm in the Bellville Cemetery. Friends and family are also invited to a dinner held in the pavilion at Palm Park in Bellville following Dixie's cemetery services. Florists may deliver flowers to the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.
