Elizabeth "Betty" Hendrick Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Hendrick, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024. Born in Detroit and raised in Hamtramck, Betty's life was a testament to her deep love for family and dedication to service. A graduate of Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores and Wayne State University, she spent over 40 years working at South Macomb Hospital in Warren, where she helped thousands over her career.

Betty was the beloved mother of Laura Hendrick (Dan Eklund) and Daniel Hendrick (Jimmy Van Bramer). She cherished her role as grandmother to Rebecca Bourlier, Natasha Eklund (Joshua Parker), and Alex Eklund.

Betty is also remembered as the dear sister of the late Susanne (Daniel) Vernier. Together, the two sisters shared a passion for shopping and travel, exploring Europe, Florida, and the beautiful sites of Michigan, with Mackinac Island and the Soo Locks holding a special place in their hearts. Betty loved the beach and often spent winters in Florida, often accompanied by Susanne.

Betty had a long-standing friendship with the Schmidt family, who held a special place in her life. Her warmth, kindness, loyalty and dedication to those she loved will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, located at 13650 Fifteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights.
