Ulla Lillimor Persson (89) was born in beautiful Rattvik, Sweden on March 30, 1935. She was welcomed home by her heavenly family on Monday, September 30th, 2024, at Mira Vie in Tinton Falls, surrounded by her grandsons Joseph and Ty, her Son-in-law Kevin, with her daughter Melanie holding her hand.

Ulla lived in Sweden until her early 20’s, when she came to the US with a friend “temporarily”. Ulla lived in NY (Astoria) where she met Peter Wong, and they eventually married. She is survived by her son Erik Wong (Whiting, NJ), daughter Melanie Giblin (Wall, NJ), Son-in-law Kevin and their sons Joseph and Ty, along with her loving family in Sweden.

She worked for many families as a nanny, then a phone operator, crossing guard, and retired from her custodial job at Merck in Rahway, NJ. She was incredibly proud to have purchased her retirement home even before she stopped working.

Her passions were being a part of the Silver Threads, knitting, crocheting, relaxing at Harry Wright Lake, being an usher at Harmony Ministries in Lakehurst, feeding outdoor cats as if they were her own, making sure hummingbirds had fresh sugar water, helping “elderly” friends when she herself was in her 70’s, and watching her grandsons whenever asked or just because she wanted to.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday October 12, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter, Harmony Ministries in Lakehurst (www.hmusa.org) , or simply do a good deed for someone that cannot repay you. Ulla’s faith never wavered, even during her most painful times, and there’s no denying that when Jesus asked her, “Do you love me? And did you know I love you?” her reply was a resounding YES.
