Lucian Dale Manns, 84, of Chesapeake, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 30, 2024, in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born December 26, 1939 in Wayne County, WV to the late Luther and Mabel Taylor Manns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, Breck Manns, Leonard Manns, Ray Manns, Ben Manns, Cuba Goins, Fanny Johnson, Emma Lou Elliott, and Betty Lee Driskell. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn Coffman Manns; his three sons, Michael (Sonya Butcher) Manns, Stephen (Wendy O’Dell) Manns and Matthew (Jami Dornon) Manns; and 7 grandkids, Taylor, Bailey, Morgan, Madison, Stephen Montgomery, and Mason and one to be arriving soon, Macie Mae. Mr. and Mrs. Manns were the founders of Superior Marine Ways in South Point, Ohio. They attended churches and raised their family in the Proctorville and Chesapeake communities. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Chesapeake, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. The visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Chesapeake, Ohio.
