Christine Prescott, age 75, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, in Westville, Florida. Christine was born on August 30, 1949, in Geneva, Alabama, to Oscar Mims and Mable Ingalls Mims. Affectionately known as "Mamatine" to many, Christine's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and loved, and her home was always a place of warmth and welcome. Christine always met you with a pleasant, cheerful smile. Christine had a passion for cooking, and her delicious meals were a testament to the love she poured into her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. Christine dedicated over thirty years of her life to serving her community as a banker. She was known for her professionalism, integrity, and the personal attention she gave to her clients.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Prescott; her parents, Oscar and Mable Mims; and her siblings, Earl Mims, Ed Mims, Ervin Mims, Edna Mims, and Florence McDuffie.

Christine is survived by her two children, Donna Covington (John), and Jody Prescott; five grandchildren: Justin Sloan (Cassie), Jessie Martin, Jade Covington, Kelsi Covington, and John Grady Covington; four great-grandchildren; three siblings, Geraldine Gillman, Darlene Hudson and Mary Grantham; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior.
