Elizabeth Skujins

April 21, 1946 – September 30, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Elizabeth Skujins on September 30, 2024, at the age of 78. Surrounded by her loving family in her final moments, Elizabeth was a pillar of strength and love, and her absence leaves a void in our hearts.

Elizabeth’s parents, Wolodymyr and Wasylyna Formaniuk, fled their homeland of Ukraine to Austria after WWII where they welcomed Liz, their eldest daughter of three, on April 21, 1946. The family set sail for a better life in 1952, and landed in Brooklyn, NY where she later met her beloved husband Peter Skujins. After marrying they settled in Staten Island, NY, where they raised their two daughters, Sonja and Stephanie. Elizabeth became a dedicated nurse, working at Bailey Seton Hospital.

She is survived by her daughters and son in-laws, Sonja and Adam Wojcik and Stephanie and Jean Paul Roberts, her grandchildren: Erik, Nicolette, Lily, and Jean Paul Jr. She also leaves behind her sisters, Jeannie Domaradsky, Helen Winiarskyj, and her uncle, Taras Pauk. Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter, and her parents.

Services are being handled by Posten-McGinley Funeral Home, 59 E Lincoln Ave, Atlantic Highlands, N.J., 07716

Visitation will be held at Posten-McGinley Funeral home on Friday, October 4th from 2-4 P.M and 7-9 P.M. with a funeral mass to follow on Saturday, October 5th at 11 A.M. at St Agnes Church, 103 Center Ave, Atlantic Highlands, N.J., 07716
