Barbara Jane Bromm, 83, of Olney, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at her home.
Barbara was born September 5, 1941 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of, Harry Cook and Leah Myrtle (Crosby) Cook.
Barbara and her husband managed the Olney Ambulance Service out of their home for many years. She then worked as a dispatcher for the hospital and then she worked for the sheriff's department. She later finished her career at Prairie Farms.
Barb was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Olney, Daughters of the Revolution, and active in the Richland County Genealogical Society. She had community involvement in the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Little League, Rescue Squad, and First Aid.
Barb enjoyed painting, drawing, card making, ancestry, softball, bowling, and attending her son's cowboy shooting events. She also loved to travel and visit her grandchildren.
Barb believed, "you never walk alone" and "to stop and smell the roses" and "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Barbara is survived by her son, James Dale Bromm of Olney; son, Jesse P. Bromm of Olney; grandchildren, Christopher Ian (Alma) Bromm, Leah Christina (Christopher) Hundley, Kyle Christian (Amanda) Bromm, Zachary Andrew (Morgan) Bromm, Aaron (Luke) Jablonski, Gabrielle Bromm, and Jessica Denay (Jared) Shadid; 7 great grandchildren; and sister, Frances Diane Wessel, brother, Rodney (Sharon) Cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Shirley Miller, Harriett Vincent, and Judy Hoover.
A visitation will be held for frirends and family on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.
A funeral will be held for Barbara on Monday, Oct 7th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney. Interment will follow at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens in Olney.
