Frank Medvec passed away on October 1, 2024. He was 68 years old. Frank was the beloved husband of Lynda (nee Geddes). Loving father of Andrew (Christina), Christopher (Stephanie), and Michael (Katie). Proud grandfather of Landon, Matthew, Parker, Alyssa, and Claire. Also survived by his Aunt Ann Kolibas, and cousins.
Frank grew up in East Brunswick, NJ. He was a graduate of East Brunswick High School. He worked as a toll collector on the NJ Turnpike for 38 years. He brought smiles and a sense of humor to patrons who passed through his toll booth. He worked at several exits over the years but spent most of his time at Exit 5, Mount Holly. After retiring from the turnpike, Frank held various jobs but one of his favorites was working as a security guard for the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. He was a USATF official and officiated track and field events at the high school and college levels. He was proud to officiate field events at the Penn Relays for 14 years. He enjoyed going to Wildwood as a child and designed a shore home for his family in Wildwood Crest. Additionally, Frank loved shopping, interior designing, and landscaping. He was an avid sports fan following pro basketball, football and baseball. He enjoyed watching collegiate basketball and football, especially the Clemson Tigers.
Frank had a contagious smile and upbeat personality. He loved to rib and joke with family and friends! He was a devoted husband to Lynda for nearly 41 years. He fulfilled a dream to take her to Italy earlier this year. Frank was a loving and supportive father to his three sons. Whether he was cheering them on at their sporting events when they were kids or helping them with landscaping their homes when they were adults, Frank was always there to support his boys. He taught them how to be great fathers by his example. He had 5 grandchildren, the last 3 of whom were born in the 4 months prior to his death. He loved to spend time with them in person and via FaceTime. He was a funny and silly grandfather, and his grandchildren affectionally called him “G-Pop”. He truly had a heart of gold and was proud of his family.
