Rachel Richardson Hargette, age 86, passed away October 1, 2024. Rachel was born on August 27, 1938 in Union County, NC, daughter to the late Steve Richardson and Johnnie Parker Richardson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hargette was also preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Clark Hargette, Sr. and daughter, Tonya Hargette Brigman; six sisters, Ethel Dean Richardson, Opha Lee McBride, Thelma Lisenby, Ruth Reeder, Bessie Griffin and Louise Richardson; three Brothers, Erskine Richardson, Hayden Richardson and twin brother Rayford Richardson.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 11:45 AM, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

Rachel is survived by her daughter Kim Hargette Huntley and her husband, Jimmy of Monroe, her son Hugh Clark Hargette, Jr and his wife, Danielle (and son TJ), of Charleston, SC; sister Elaine Richardson Parker of Monroe; grandchildren, Dylan Long, Amity Huntley, Jordan Brigman and Austin Huntley, all of Monroe, Jason Hargette (Nicole) and Lindsay Hargette Smith (Jay), of South Carolina, Amanda Benton and Amber Munson (Brandon) of Monroe, Shannon Brigman Lopez (husband Richard) and Allen Brigman (Salina) of Texas. Michael Brigman, Jr. (Tiffany and Lillie), 10 great grandchildren and numerous special nieces and nephews.
