Richard Wayne Dane, age 87, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away in Mayfield, Kentucky on on Tuesday, October 1st. Richard was born on January 31st, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama to parents Arlie and Flora Dye. Richard graduated from Bendle High School in Burton, Michigan in 1954 and then went on to attend Flint Junior College, Eastern Michigan University, and then Central Michigan University, working his way to achieve his Masters and EDS degrees in Education. 

Richard was a teacher at Millington High School, Blanchard High School, Essexville School and at Rapid River. Along with being a educator, Richard also worked as a insurance agent for State Farm from 1969 to 1999. He as well was a member of the Lions Club and the Ruby Chapter #191 OES of Arkansas. He was also a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church, Rapid River, Michigan, the Cherokee Village Lutheran Church, and the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church. His hobbies were hunting, reading and cars. 

Richard is survived by his daughters Amy Driesel (Doug) and Lora Snowaert; grandchildren Alyssa Fulcher, Jared Snowaert, Ian Driesel and Doug Driesel Jr.; great-grandchildren Kairi Fulcher, Harlow Fulcher, Chandler Vasquez, Adrian Driesel and Makenna Driesel; and his sister Kay Roam. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sylvia, and his brother Kenneth.
