"Together Again"
Larcy Leo "Lee" Jaques, age 88 of Wooster, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster after a period of declining health.
He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on March 28, 1936, to Lonnie and Goldie Lucille (Stover) Jaques and has been a Wayne County resident for most of his life.
He had proudly served in the US Marine Corps from June 1956 to June 1962. He then served in the Army National Guard of Ohio from January 1963 until January 1966.
Lee later married Olive "Ollie" Hockenberry Kurtz on April 15, 1967, in Wooster. She went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2010.
After moving from Dayton, Ohio to the Wooster area he worked as a welder and at Borg Warner in Wooster. He then worked as a Mechanic for the former Armstrong Drilling, Hostetler Trucking Co. and retired from Mirk, Inc. after many years of service.
He most recently attended the Loudonville Church of The Nazarene and was a former long-time member of Wooster Church of The Nazarene where he also served on the Board and taught Sunday School for many years.
He enjoyed working with his hands and enjoyed carving small wooden objects and restoring old cars.
Lee was also a devoted husband and father who dearly loved his family and especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He is survived and will be forever missed by his step children, Rita ( Myron) Franks of Orrville, Ohio, Ronald "Ron" (Joyce) Kurtz of Wooster, Ohio, Rhonda (John) Bowling of Venice, Florida; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; his brothers, John (Sandy) Jaques, Bill (Karen) Jaques and Steve Jaques all of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Loraine (Chuck) Butterbaugh of Wooster, Maxine (Randy) Webb, Louise (Tim) Tarziers, and Debbie Napier all of the Dayton, Ohio area, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Olive, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Lynn Kincaid; an infant son, Coby Jaques; 2 brothers, James Jaques and Lonnie Jaques, Jr. and a stepson, Robert "Bob" Kurtz.
Per Lee's wishes, there will be no public services or visitation.
Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is assisting the family.
