It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Donnie Bruton, who left us peacefully on October 1, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on April 16, 1952, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Charles and Thelma (Forbes) Bruton. Donnie dedicated himself to his craft as a painter from the age of 16. Later, he successfully ran his own company as a contractor, always wearing many hats with pride. In retirement, Donnie embraced life fully, indulging in his passions for history, old cowboy movies, and above all, sports. We forgive him for cheering for some of our Ohio rivals, St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers, but his passion for cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide was a Saturday tradition that brought him immense joy and camaraderie.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Thelma (Forbes) Bruton, his (2nd) wife, Gwenn Bruton, his brother Dwayne Bruton, his grandson Nick Brumley and his daughter Roxanne Nelson.
Survived by his lifelong companion, Pam Hollingsworth, his brother, David Bruton (Debbie), his sister, Sherry Rosenberger (Rick), his son Tom Bruton, his daughter Melissa Yearwood (Dave), his grandchildren, Amanda Brumley, Andy King (Shayla), Lindsay Nelson, Jessica Bruton, Kourtney Bruton and Caden Yearwood. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Drake, Kerstyn, Bryleigh, Clayton, Lathen, Chloe, Camden, Kinley, Charlotte, Jackson and Madison. Also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as cousins that were like brothers and sisters to him.
Roll Tide, Roll Donnie
