Louis Trznadel, 91, of Schererville, IN, went to be with his heavenly Father Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Louis is survived by his loving children Rick (Peggy) Trznadel, Debbi (Gary) Richardson, Julie (Steve) Urbanski, and Holly (Brian) Bouck; adored grandchildren Sara (Scott), Mark (Sierra), Johnathan (Megan), Amy (Tom), Lily, Andrew, Laney, and Spencer; cherished great-grandchildren Lizzy, Eleanor, Paige, Aubree, Isabelle, and Theodore; sister Patricia Kreiner; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Maryellen, daughter Amy, mother Anna Stevens, brothers Daniel & Gebhart, and brother-in-law Edward Kreiner.
Louis was a 1952 graduate of Hammond Tech. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Sheet Metal Worker for many years, which he greatly enjoyed. After his retirement from the trades, he went to work for Reeder Companies, where he had his second act of retirement at age 81. Lou also taught Sunday school for over 30 years, lead music, and served on several church boards over the years. He was a member of Bethel Bible Church in Hammond for over 60 years and most recently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Highland. Louis was a lifelong Cubs fan, fisherman, Mr.Fix-it, and enjoyed gardening and talking sports with everyone. He loved traveling to Branson, MO and Nashville, IN with his wife, and was always up for a family gathering. Lou's commitment to God and his family endeared him to all. He was known for his generosity, commitment to helping others, and uplifting spirit. Lou's infamous tag line was "not bad for an old man". He will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 from 9:00am-11:00am with the funeral service starting immediately at 11:00am, all at Calvary Baptist Church (9516 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, IN, 46322). Pastor Denzel Mauk and Pastor David Webb will be officiating. Interment will be private at Chapel Lawn in Crown Point, Indiana.
