Lawrence “Tom” Andrews Jr., 77, a lifetime resident of Chester, passed following a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, September 30, 2024, at his residence.

Born, on January 31, 1947, in Weirton Heights, he was the son of the late Lawrence T. Sr. and Helen Koch Andrews.

Tom was also preceded in death by his sisters, Peggy Ritchie and Patty Tice.
 

Tom attended Oak Glen High School. He worked at Crucible Steel until its closure and at Ferro Corporation in East Liverpool.  In 1985 he opened “Tom’s Country Kitchen” in Chester. He owned and operated the restaurant until 2013 when he retired.  He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.   Tom was a wonderful dad and husband. He loved spending time with his family and helping others. 

Tom was a member of the First Methodist Church in Chester.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Judith Wood Andrews. They had been married for 27 years. He will also be missed by his son, Jeff Andrews (Gina) of Saxonburg, PA.; and his daughters, Jody Barnette (Gary) of Lake Norman, NC. And Sonia Ankeny (Jim Adams) of Hanoverton, OH.; grandchildren, Tyler Andrews (Alyssa), Mikayla and Madison Andrews, Kyle, Tiffany, and Morgan Barnette and John Saltsman; great-grandchildren, Zara and Brooks Andrews; brothers, Dave Andrews (Joyce) of New Cumberland, Johnny Andrews of New Cumberland and Shane Andrews of Tallahassee, FL; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-laws, Tom (Cheryl) Wood and Russ (Judy) Wood.

Per Tom’s wishes, no services are planned at this time. Private inurnment will be held at New Cumberland Cemetery. He is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel.
