Catherine Ione Neil (nee Shott)

Passed away peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital on Saturday September 28, 2024, at 69 years of age.

Catherine(Cathy) was the loving wife of the late Ronald Neil, who passed away in 2008.

Proud and loving mother of Erin (partner Derek Legue), Grahame (partner Valli Fraser-Celin), and Heather (husband Jordan Jovanovski).

She was affectionately known as “Gran” to her adoring grandchildren: Andrew, Tyler, James, Ryan, Maya, Ava, and Ella, as well Derek's beloved children, Owen and Sadie. Cherished sister of Bruce (Sherry), Warren (Kerri), Cam (Liane) and Colin (Sandra). She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews and her countless friends, both near and far.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Sheila, Deb and Carol, who weren't just friends to Cathy, but were more like sisters. Their unwavering love and support brought her immense comfort and joy.

Cathy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1982. Although she faced many physical challenges, she never let them define her. Instead, she approached life with an infectious positivity, resilience, and an unwavering spirit that inspired all those around her. Her kindness and strength radiated even in the toughest times. She approached each day with a grateful heart and a determination to find joy in the little things.

Catherine’s legacy is one of love, strength, and beautiful memories that will forever be etched into our hearts. We will forever cherish the light she brought into our lives and the countless ways she inspired us to be better.

All are welcomed to the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket on Friday October 11, 2024, from 3-4 p.m. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
