Nancy Manzella LaMuth, 78, passed away at Commonwealth Senior Living Center in Hagerstown, MD. Born December 23, 1945, in Thurmont, MD, she was the daughter of the late Donald Horace Bostian and Beulah Manzella Stimmel Bostian.

She was a 1963 graduate of Thurmont High School. She was of the Christian faith and had attended the Church of the Holy Trinity in Hagerstown, MD for many years before its closure.

Nancy spent many years being a homemaker and looking after her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Memaw. She enjoyed being outdoors mowing the lawn and tending her flower gardens. She had an eye for color and decorating, making her homes magazine worthy. She was adventurous, picking up and moving to Tucson, AZ and Columbus, OH. She loved learning and trying new things, even published a children’s book about her beloved pets, Dutch and Lucky.

Nancy is survived by her son, Donald Long of Warfordsburg, PA; five grandchildren, Jessica Barr and husband, Eric, of Clear Spring, MD, Kattie Shepherd and husband, John, of Berkeley Springs, WV, and Jacob Long, Brittany Long and Tyler Long, all of Hagerstown, MD; five great-grandchildren, Alivia, Owen, Payton, Layla and Ella; two brothers, Edward “Buddy” Bostian and wife, Lottie and Larry “Jim” Bostian and wife, Mary Frances of Thurmont, MD; a special niece, Francia Stanley of Thurmont, MD; and many other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Allen Long in 2000, and husband, George Robert LaMuth Jr. in 2017.

On behalf of the family, we would like to thank all the staff at Commonwealth Senior Living Center and Hospice of Washington County for the care and compassion you showed Nancy over the years and in her final days.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.  Rev. Tom Young will officiate.
