Carole Yvonne Taylor, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Sentara Heart Hospital, Norfolk, VA. Born in Brooklyn, New York on August 10, 1942, Carole was the daughter and only child of the late William Burton Hall of Richlands, NC and Dorothy Mae Hall of Pitt County, NC.

She met her husband and childhood sweetheart at school in the 8th grade and they were married on June 6, 1961 in Elizabeth City, NC. Carole was a homemaker and bookkeeper. She attended New Town United Methodist Church when they retired to Williamsburg, VA.

Carole was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed. Carole loved God, her family and her country. She loved to shop and did not know a stranger. She was a passionate reader of the Bible and history. Carole loved sweets and believed in eating dessert first.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, Jerry Thomas Taylor; their children, Lisa Carole Anderson and Sherry Lynne Crotts (David); her granddaughter, Cara Lynch; her great grandson Devin Lynch; her step-grandchildren Kaitlynn Crotts and Matthew Crotts (Teresa); and 6 step-great grandchildren.

A service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville, NC, followed by a 3:00 p.m. burial at Onslow Memorial Park, Jacksonville, NC 28540 where Carole will be laid to rest beside her father (William Burton Hall). Reception to follow. Arrangements are in the care of Bucktrout of Williamsburg, VA.
