Helen Ann Marie Alexander Obituary

It is with Great Sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Helen Ann Marie Alexander (nee Belanich) on October 1, 2024, in her home in Maryland at the age of 80. She was born on June 15, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio and lived a tremendous life of service and kindness.

Helen found her passion for nursing early on and received her RN when she graduated from nursing school in 1965. She went on to also receive her BSN in nursing and always thought of Nursing as a calling more than a profession. She was fortunate to have helped many patients in all areas of Nursing from OB Gyn, Long Term Care, Head Nurse, the ICU, and the OR. Helen had the pleasure of working with many wonderful healthcare workers throughout her career and developed lifelong friendships and bonds.

In addition to her nursing career Helen was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, Aunt, and Sister. On many a day you could find her cheering in the stands at a sporting event or in the audience for a concert or play. And although she had one son, she was a “mom’ too many and always there for her son’s best friends. She loved to read, was never afraid of a road trip, and mornings never really started without toast and coffee.

Helen is survived by her son Luther Alexander, daughter-in-law Patricia Alexander, granddaughter Taylor Alexander and grandson Grant Alexander. She is also survived by her sister Rose Finotti.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
