Lucille Denny Hawthorne, 96, widow of Ramon Lyons Hawthorne died Friday, September 29, 2024 at the Richwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in LaGrange. Born January 5th, 1928 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Henderson Walter and Beulah Hawkins Denny. She was a former resident of the Fairview Assisted Living in Carrollton, a homemaker and a member of the Burgin Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, UK Basketball, traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one daughter: Rhonda (Junie) Welch of Bedford; two grandsons: Kevin Sims and Kurt Sims; three great-grandchildren: MaKayla Sims, Audrey Sims, and Savannah Sims and one great-great-grandson: Elijah Williamson.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Cecil Denny, Ernest Denny, Pete Denny and H.W. Denny.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home Inc., and Cremation Services with Carl McCray officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Kevin Sims, Kurt Sims, Junie Welch, Joe Denny, Jason Denny and Gaylon Denny serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
