Madeline W Meyers Obituary

Madeline W. Meyers, affectionately known as 'Madge' or 'Maddie', passed away peacefully to be with Our Lord on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on October 12, 1941, in Philadelphia, PA, she was a beloved member of the Wilmington, DE community, where she and her husband, spent many years together.


Madeline was the proud owner of Rainbow Custodial, which she operated alongside her loving husband, Edward L. Meyers, until his passing in 1994. For many years, she dedicated herself to the Brandywine School District as a school bus driver, bringing joy and safety to countless children. In her final role before retirement, Madeline served as an accounting administrator for the New Castle County Courthouse, where her hard work and dedication were greatly appreciated.


Madeline enjoyed travel. She had a deep love for the beach/ Cape May Jersey Shore. Madeline always expressed a profound compassion for animals. Most recently, her beloved rescue dog named Dudley.


A faithful Christian, Madeline was known for her kind, loving, and generous spirit. Her hardworking nature and dedication to her family and community touched the lives of many. Before her injury, she was actively involved in her church, Iron Faith Fellowship of Wilmington, De, where she offered her time and talents to support various initiatives.


Madeline is survived by her daughter, Linnette A. Jeffers, and her grandchild, Erica 'Erik' L. Jeffers, who will cherish her memory. She is also survived by her brother, Martin Wendel Jr., her cousins, Bill Weber and Marie Cherbuck, along with her children and grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind nieces Kimberly Wood, Joanne Wendel, Jennifer Lynch, and Megan Eash, along with 14 great nieces and nephews.


Madeline W. Meyers will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her compassionate heart, and her commitment to those she loved. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.


Please join us in Celebration of Madeline's Life, Saturday morning, 11am October 12th, at Iron Faith Fellowship Church, 801 Darley Road, Wilmington, DE. 19010, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 10am.


In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Madeline's name to Iron Faith Fellowship Church.
