Shirley Lyn Ernst, age 50 of Sheridan, native of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024. She was born February 24, 1974 in Columbus, the daughter of Lyle Paul Ernst and Betty Ann (Murphy) Ernst.

Shirley enjoyed spending time with family and most importantly, her “granddogs”. She loved crafting and always had her family making some sort of crafts for every holiday. Shirley was always first in line to rock out at the next concert, or jam to her favorite bands with her favorite people.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry Paul Ernst. Shirley is survived by her three children, Matthew Foley, Michael Foley, and Kendra Wood; her siblings, Dale Ernst and Theresa Stienstraw; and her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 4 at Hurst Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the funeral. Graveside services will immediately follow at Evergreen Township Cemetery in Sheridan.
