  Charles R. Clifford Sr., 83, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, September 29th at his residence in Ottawa.  

  Private burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tiskilwa at a later date.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

  Born December 14, 1940 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of James R. and Anna (Megahan) Clifford.  He married Barbara Soroczak on June 27, 1959 at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church in Pittsburgh.

  He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Lisa (Rick) Adkins of Brownstown, Michigan; sons, Charles (Renae) Clifford Jr. of Streator, Jeff Clifford of Sheridan; grandchildren, Emily and Megan Adkins, Sara, Katy, and Michael (Trish) Clifford; great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Charlie Clifford a sister, Mary Ray of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and a close friend, Bill (Susan) Phaelan of Wyanet.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Mark and Greg Clifford; sisters, Laura Lema and Anna Kovach; brothers, James and Ralph Clifford and a daughter-in-law, Libby Clifford.

  Charles was raised in Pittsburgh and moved to Illinois in 1964.  He lived in several Chicago suburbs and eventually settled in Ottawa in 2011.

  He worked in various positions in the Food and Beverage industry over the years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Columba Church in Ottawa.

  Charles loved music and liked to play the piano.  He was an avid fan of football that loved the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
